We miss you, Daddy!

Here is Lorin making her best "I miss Daddy" face. Wade returned to Poland 2 weeks ago while the rest of us have continued our summer vacation in Utah. We sure love being here, but it just isn't the same without Dad around. Right kids?

In case you haven't noticed, my brother, Paul, and I are sort of in the middle of a blog war right now. He may have a pretty sweet blog complete with hijacked photos and a clever little poll question, but he doesn't have kids nearly as talented as mine! Check it out! Synchronized head-standing! Wade's Birthday Bash!

Since we were in Utah for Wade' birthday this year, we decided to have a big party with both of our families here at the new townhouse (I will post pictures of the townhouse later). It was so much fun! We started at the clubhouse down the street with swimming and volleyball, then ended at the townhouse for cake and ice cream. Thanks to everyone who came! We really enjoyed having you all here!

Motor Heads...

In case you haven't figured it out already, we are in Utah now for the summer! We bought ourselves a little townhouse in Lehi, of all places, and we are LOVING it! Don't get too excited...it doesn't mean we're moving back to Utah right away. We still have a few short years left over-seas. But, having our own place sure does make our summer visits a lot more like a vacation than a "toleration."

One of the great perks is that we have our own garage to keep the boys motorcycles in! So, Wade decided to take the boys out together with their cousin, Dallin, a couple of weeks ago for a ride. I let him take my camera with him (can you believe it?) and told him NOT to come home without at least a dozen shots of the kids on their bikes. Well, true to being a devoted husband, Wade came home with a picture of the boys. ONE picture of the boys. THIS picture of the boys. I couldn't be too upset with him. It is a good picture, isn't it?

Heaven on Earth...

...is exactly what I like to call this place. Lake Powell. My family has been coming here nearly every summer for as long as I can remember. It's a tradition...and I think it's one tradition that our family intends to keep! It's a boater's paradise...breathtaking landscapes, clear and warm water, miles and miles of exploring (caves, cliff-jumping opportunities, smooth ski water). Have I sold you on it yet? We're already looking forward to our next trip down there, so if you're interested in joining us, give us a call! You won't regret it.

Ok, so I have been thoroughly reprimanded by my brother, Paul, for not posting any new stuff on this family blog for a while. Despite a few very legitimate and believable excuses (I thought), I left his house this morning with my head hanging low in shame. Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a blogger. Maybe I'm just not the blog harlot I once thought I was. Maybe I should do something else with my free time. No...there's hope for me yet. I CAN be a blogger! I'll show you, Paul!
